SCIENCE FICTION can have a life-changing effect: opening the door to unlimited possibility … and sometimes, offering Enlightenment … beyond the boundaries of human knowledge.
That’s partly why we LOVE it so — and keep coming back for MORE.
As authors of THE SURVIVAL TRILOGY, our storytelling journey has taken us from Award-winning Novels … to eBooks … to Audiobooks … to Video Trailers on YouTube … to Pinterest Boards (over 20) … to (hopefully) one day … adaptation as a TV Miniseries — by a visionary Director who can bring our story to Life on the Screen.
We created the TRILOGY (inspired by Real Events) to empower Women and People of Color. It begins with Book 1 A GLEAM OF LIGHT:
“8-yr-old Una Waters survives a terrifying UFO encounter at 30,000 feet, changing her forever. 21 years later, when the U.S. Army invades the Sacred Peaks of Hopiland, a desperate plea draws Una back to her childhood home, to solve a mystery linked to an ancient discovery that threatens their way of life.”
Instinct tells us this story can only be told by a Woman.
In our quest to find the right Filmmaker, we’ve reached out to a number of today’s Female Directors, all considered to be “on the rise” in Hollywood — with some amazing Feedback.
Award-winning Lebanese producer and director NOUR WAZZI has earned numerous accolades and awards for her shorts. In 2017, the BBC named her to their New Talent Hot List. Since then, she has directed stars such as Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke in “Murder Manual”, and most recently, joined the creative team behind the new young adult Sci-Fi series “The Last Bus” on Netflix.
POLLY PIERCE is an Australian/Canadian filmmaker with biracial ethnicity (Chinese and Caucasian). In 2021, she won the Best Female Filmmaker and Best Female Director awards for her short film “Wytch Craft” at the Arthouse Festival of Beverly Hills and Chicago Indie Film Awards and the Best Cinematography award for her work on the short film “Where Everyone Lives” at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. In her 15+ years working internationally in the film and television industry, Polly has amassed over 80 professional credits working on productions from Disney+, 20th Century Fox, Apple TV+ and more.
Canadian film director, writer, and producer NYLA INNUKSUK has been through a lot in her young life and come out the other side, still smiling, still inspiring, still creating. In her own words: “A producer of film and virtual reality content. Lover of dogs that are not my own.” She was named the inaugural imagineNATIVE Indigenous VR/AR Artist in Residence and is working with Marvel Comics to create an Indigenous Superhero. Nyla also recently completed a feature film called “Slash/Back” (released October 21, 2022) — “A coming of age, action adventure Sci-Fi about a group of girls from Nunavut who chase down aliens and battle them.”
YU SUKIE HAN came to the U.S. from China at age 16. She attended California State University and earned BA in film and TV. In 2013, she directed her first Sci-Fi short film “Two Dimensions”, and a time travel comedy “Newton’s First Trip”. In the fall of 2015, Yu won the Best Director Award for a Sci-Fi comedy “Robot Club”. The short film follows an outer space robot that falls to earth and encounters a group of nerds. In early 2017, she directed a Sci-Fi drama “Project 31” for the HBO Asian Director Visionaries Short Film Competition. The film tells a story of a man who falls deep into an experiment and mistakes life in ancient China for reality.
Writer and director EUNICE LEVIS is a first-generation Dominican American from the Bronx, New York. Known for “Ro & the Stardust” and “InVade”, her work focuses on genre-bending stories that combine her love of horror, Sci-Fi, thriller and fantasy through a diasporic lens. She seeks to disrupt and challenge dominant narratives around technology, race, gender, history, and diaspora identity by altering the stories we tell about them.
THE SURVIVAL TRILOGY
The TRILOGY sheds light on racial injustice — as it explores the human connection to Ancient Aliens through the eyes of Native Mythology.
Book 1 A GLEAM OF LIGHT explores Native American Mythology as UNA, half-Hopi bureaucrat from D.C., is summoned to Hopiland. Her connection to the white man’s world makes her uniquely qualified to help solve a mystery linked to an ancient discovery, as she tries to reconnect with her roots and cultural identity.
Book 2 THE DRAGON’S GLARE explores Asian American Mythology with UNA on special assignment to investigate unexplained violence in Chinatown, New York City. She discovers a deep-seated cultural connection with Tibetan immigrants as Ancient Chinese wisdom battles a threat from Ancient Evil.
Book 3 BEYOND THE WORLD explores African American Mythology as UNA, briefly stranded on her honeymoon adventure in Yosemite, uncovers a UFO mystery that leads to an Alien Conspiracy. Together with teen members of Explorer’s Club from the Kikuyu Tribe, she must track down the source of strange events and fight to save humanity.
In Hollywood, prior commitments and lack of bandwidth can prevent even the most talented Filmmakers from taking on a new project.
We are not deterred.
THE SURVIVAL TRILOGY has changed our lives forever … placing us on a path that we might never have imagined otherwise. We believe its Story is destined to be told in the most powerful SCI-FI way possible … by a visionary Director up on the Screen — to reach the entire World.
